Mary A. NewcombMary A. Newcomb, President, Board of Directors
Mary Newcomb is honored to serve DeLaCerda House as Board President. Mary has earned her Masters of Social Work and spent several years working in local agencies. She is a Practicum Administrator at the University of Iowa School of Social Work in their Quad City program, is a trainer for foster and adoptive parents in Illinois, and works for a real estate attorney. When she isn't working, Mary enjoys spending time volunteering in various community organizations, including school and faith based organizations. Mary brings her talents to this board to better serve those in the community who would otherwise fall through the cracks.

Dawn CameronDawn Cameron, Secretary, Treasurer
Dawn holds a BA from Western Illinois University and is a certified Housing Development Finance Professional. She spent 18 years working for local non-profits in compliance and development. Dawn has spent the past 5 years in civil service with the City of Davenport and is currently their Lead Financial Specialist. She is the City of Davenport's representative on the Quad Cities Shelter and Transitional Housing Council. Dawn offers great leadership skills and understanding the needs of non-profits. We are excited to have her as a part of our board of directors.

Jessica Gordon has spent her career in advocacy, currently serving as the Midwest Regional Manager for Understood, an organization dedicated to providing resources to parents of kids with learning and attention issues. Shes the mother of Aspen, Amelia and Anjuli and is married to Mark. Previously she was a Constituent Advocate in Senator Tom Harkin's office and worked for Ben Cohen of Ben and Jerry's ice cream. In her spare time, Jessica enjoys performing with Open Source improv comedy troupe.

Janine JohnsonJanine Johnson
Janine graduated from Wartburg College-BA and Wartburg Theological Seminary-MA. She has spent over 35 years in the human services field for both government and nonprofit organizations; providing services in a variety of contexts from child welfare to serving individuals experiencing housing and homeless issues. Janine is presently on staff at Zion Lutheran Church in Davenport, IA as the Outreach Coordinator.

Dana Munson
Dana is from a diverse family with 14 children and two awesome supportive and loving parents.  She is has spent her career providing housing assistance to  low income families.   She is entering her 19th year with Greater Metropolitan Area Housing Authority in the Housing Choice Voucher Program.  She is looking forward to exciting changes with the agency in assisting clients to move along the continuum.  She also has ten year career base with a multi-family project based Section 8 Property. Dana values the time she spends with her daughter and granddaughter.  She is honored to serve on the board.

Susan SaccoSusan Sacco
Susan was born and raised in the Quad Cities. She is the youngest of three children, Jim and Annette. She is the Coordinator of Disability Services at Black Hawk College, where she has been for the past 12 years. She is also a Co-Advisor for the Military Student Veterans Club at BHC as she was a former Army Wife for about 7 years. Prior to BHC, she was a Community Advocate at the local Illinois/Iowa Center for Independent Living for 10 years. Overall, Susan has worked in the disability-related field for over 25+years. Susan is a person with a disability and is passionate about working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing, having been a former Big Sister to a deaf Little Sister. She does know Sign Language and has been a former Adjunct Professor at our local Interpreter Training Program, when it was at BHC.

Susan lives in RI and has a dog and a cat which she considers her “furbabies.” In her free time, she enjoys reading, cooking and spending time with her sister and dad. Susan also enjoys having meals and coffee with her friends and doing retail shopping at 2nd hand stores!
